Защо не можете да преценявате порция
Грешката при оценка на порциите е достатъчно голяма, за да заличи повечето от нещата, които хората се опитват да променят в диетата си. Точно този проблем решават приложенията за сканиране на храна.
Мащабът на проблема
Систематичен преглед на оценката на размера на порциите [3] и на грешките при спомняне [2] установява грешки, които редовно достигат десетки процента. От съществено значение е, че грешката е отклонена, а не случайна: хората подотчитат, и подотчитат повече, когато приемът е по-висок и когато храната е такава, за която се чувстват съдени.
Валидирането спрямо двойно белязана вода — референтният метод, разгледан на нашия сайт за метаболизъм — количествено измерва това директно. Затова хранителен дневник, показващ 1600 ккал без промяна в теглото, обикновено е проблем с измерването, а не с метаболизма.
Грешка при оценка на порциите
Защо е трудно
- Възприятието за обем е нелинейно. Удвояването на диаметъра на купа повече от удвоява съдържанието й, а хората преценяват по ширината.
- Готварското олио е невидимо. Една супена лъжица е над 100 ккал и не остава в спомена за храненето.
- Опаковката определя порцията. „Порция“ е каквото е съдържал контейнерът.
- Референтните обекти не работят. „С размер на длан“ варира според дланта.
- Паметта реконструира. Хората си спомнят какво обикновено ядат, а не какво са изяли всъщност.
Тренировката помага, но систематичен преглед на ефектите от обучението [4] показва, че подобрението отслабва без затвърждаване — обичайният резултат за перцептивно умение.
Може ли технологията да го реши?
Тук идва ролята на оценката на храненето чрез изображения: снимате храненето, а модел идентифицира храните и оценява обема. Съществуват валидационни проучвания спрямо референтни методи, а разширената реалност е разгледана като помощно средство за оценка [1].
Честно обобщение: методите, базирани на изображения, са несъвършени, но по-добри от спомнянето. Те премахват стъпката на паметта, която е най-големият източник на грешка, но добавят нови грешки, свързани с оценката на дълбочина и скритите съставки. В сравнение с хранителен дневник, попълнен по спомен преди лягане, това е ясно подобрение. В сравнение с кухненска везна — не е.
Какво означава това за проследяването
Използвайте проследените калории като относителен сигнал, не като абсолютен. Ако вписваният от вас прием е постоянен от седмица на седмица, а теглото ви не се променя, полезният ход е да промените нещо и да наблюдавате тенденцията — не да вярвате на числото. Постоянството на метода има далеч по-голямо значение от точността на метода, защото постоянно отклонение се неутрализира, когато сравнявате себе си със себе си.
